The Faculty
The Silesian University is one of the youngest universities in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1991. It is a university with a wide range of study programmes and significant contacts with universities in Europe and overseas.
The Silesian University is divided into five educational units:
- The School of Business Administration in Karvina
- The Faculty of Philosophy and Science in Opava
- The Faculty of Public Policy in Opava
- The Mathematical Institute in Opava
- The Educational Centre in Krnov
The School of Business Administration located in Karvina is historically the oldest part of the Silesian University. The modern building of the school offers a pleasant atmosphere for its students.
The Faculty has a total of about 4 000 registered students (full-time and part-time) and 100 teachers. The School is oriented towards the education of experts in the economic, financial, social, administrative fields of study as well as computer studies.
The Faculty offers the students three-step educational system taught in czech language:
- Bachelor's (Bc. degree)
- Master's (Ing. degree)
- Doctoral (Ph.D. degree)
